This piece captures a quiet winter creek winding through the landscape, with cool green-blue water cutting between snow-covered banks and trees still holding onto those last warm autumn tones. I was drawn to that contrast, the crispness of winter against the lingering golds and rusts, and leaned into it with thick, expressive paint and palette knife work. It’s one of those in-between moments in nature that feels both still and alive, and I wanted to hold onto that feeling.
