This piece is all about the sky, the way those heavy winter clouds move across the landscape and open up just enough to let that soft, glowing light through near the horizon. I loved the contrast between the cool blues and violets above and that quiet warmth sitting low over the snowy field. The tracks in the snow pull you into the distance, giving it that sense of openness and calm that I’m always chasing. I kept the brushwork loose and atmospheric to hold onto that fleeting moment right before the light disappears.
